Spherical plain bearings are used in equipment that undergo articulated movement, involving oscillating or aligning motions. Spherical plain bearings do not have any rolling element in between the rings. They are generally used for applications that require bearings at low speeds and ability to take some degree of misalignment.
Spherical plain bearings are classified broadly into two: self-lubricating type with a solid PTFE based liner and the manual lubrication type in which contact between the inner and outer rings is metal-to-metal.
BMD has a wide range of spherical plain bearings with various sizes for suiting different applications.
